Hi I'm Ed,
I have lived and worked in every part of Newport over the last 50 years. I have a degree in Social Work from Eastern Kentucky University. I have volunteered in numerous community activities all of which have given me key insights into the wants and needs of Newport citizens. I am passionate about our city and through integrity and transparency, I promise to become your spokesperson for the good of all in our city government.
Community Involvement
- Westside Citizens’ Coalition, (WCC) President for four years, long term member.
- Newport Alumni Mentoring Program for Newport Public Schools - one of four founding members.
- ReNewport Education Task Force member.
- Instrumental in the creation of the York Street Local Historic District.
- Historic Preservation Board member.
- Newport Festival Park Committee member.
- Organized and implemented the planting of hundreds of trees on Newport’s West Side.
- Donation of Photography services to East End tree plantings, Trash Bash, and Mentoring Plus.
- Graduate of Campbell County Citizens Academy.
- Volunteer of the year award 2019 Campbell County Extension Service.
